Be active to keep vein diseases at bay
If you suffer from varicose veins or other vein issues, chances are that your condition will worsen during the winter months. Changes in air temperature, reduced physical activity, and weight gain especially during the holiday months, maybe a few of the reasons for these conditions to aggravate during winter.
Exercise and physical activity are the keys to keeping your veins healthy during the colder months. They don’t need to be strenuous activities and you don’t even need to hit the gym. Thirty minutes every day is more than enough. A walk is great, but if it is too cold, you don’t even need to step out. Some yoga, Pilates, or dancing indoors would work just as well.
Although you may be tempted to gorge yourself on all the holiday goodies, know that healthy, balanced meals are better for you to maintain your ideal weight. This will go a long way towards preventing vein diseases.
