April Spotlight: Understanding and Managing Rosacea

April is Rosacea Awareness Month, a perfect time to shed light on this common skin condition. Often affecting fair-skinned individuals, rosacea is characterized by persistent facial redness, flushing, and acne-like bumps. While it’s not a serious health threat, the visible symptoms can be distressing and life-disrupting. Many people spend years trying ineffective treatments without relief.

At Skin & Vein Institute, we understand the challenges of living with rosacea. While not curable, skilled, experienced care from Dr. Amanda Lloyd can effectively treat symptoms and reduce the risk of future flare-ups.

Dr. Lloyd works closely with patients to identify triggers such as spicy foods, hot and caffeinated beverages, alcohol, and stress. Simple lifestyle changes can significantly reduce flare-ups. For the bumps and pimples, a physician-grade, gentle skincare routine is essential. Choosing non-irritating products and using daily sunscreen can make a world of difference. To tackle the redness, a combination of excellent skincare and laser treatments, such as Excel V, is often the most effective approach.

Our practice is dedicated to providing exceptional customer care. If rosacea is affecting your life, we’re here to help. Schedule an appointment by calling (760) 452-2080 or emailing [email protected]. Let us support you on your journey to healthier skin.
