Reclaim Your Confidence: Advanced Scar Removal at Skin & Vein Institute

Scars can be a constant reminder of past acne, infections, trauma, or surgery. They can be unsightly and embarrassing, but you don’t have to live with them anymore. At Skin & Vein Institute, Board-Certified Dermatologist Dr. Amanda Lloyd offers cutting-edge scar removal treatments to help you achieve smoother, clearer skin.

Laser Treatments for Scar Removal in Encinitas CA Area

When your skin is damaged from pimple popping, surgery, or other trauma, your body repairs it with new collagen. Unfortunately, this collagen is thicker and more rope-like than the normally smooth, flexible collagen we have in our skin, which leads to scar formation. Over time, the body tries to replace this collagen with normal collagen, but the process is often imperfect, resulting in scars. Some scars, like hypertrophic scars or keloids, occur when the body overreacts to the initial trauma, while others, like acne scars, are atrophic or depressed due to underproduction of collagen.

The Fraxel® laser has revolutionized scar treatment by removing the ropy collagen and stimulating the production of new, flexible collagen. It is effective for all types of scars, particularly acne scars. Additionally, if a scar is discolored with red or brown tones, these discolorations can be treated effectively with other lasers such as the Excel V.

Because scars come in many forms, Dr. Lloyd will tailor a treatment plan just for you. Experience excellent care and take the first step toward smoother skin. Call us at (760) 452-2080 or email [email protected] to book your appointment today!
