Your guide to laser treatments, fillers, and other common cosmetic services at the Skin and Vein Institute
Let's look at common questions about these services often heard from her team:
What exactly is laser treatment? How does it work?
Laser treatment utilizes focused beams of light energy to target specific areas of the skin while addressing issues like acne scars, sun damage, or unwanted hair. The laser stimulates your skin’s natural healing process, promoting collagen production and leaving you with much smoother and more radiant skin.Is there any risk of scarring with laser treatments or fillers?
Scarring is not common but can occur if patients are not following the aftercare instructions provided by our team. Laser treatment scar risk is minimal but possible. This is why we encourage patients to ensure they are caring for their skin after their services at the Skin and Vein Institute. Are dermal fillers really safe?
Absolutely! Dermal fillers are FDA-approved and are made from materials naturally found in your body, like hyaluronic acid. When administered by trained professionals like a Board-Certified Dermatologist, fillers are perfectly safe and provide a subtle, natural-looking enhancement. How long do the results of dermal fillers last?
The longevity of filler results depends on the type used and the area treated, but they typically last anywhere from 6 - 18 months. If you really love your look and want to maintain it, touch-ups are fast and easy at our practice.Does laser hair removal treatment hurt?
Most of our patients describe the actual sensation as a quick snap, like a rubber band against the skin. It is often a well-tolerated treatment, and many devices include cooling systems to minimize discomfort. Each session gets you closer to ditching razors and waxing for good! The most important step to getting the best dermal fillers
It is the patient's responsibility to choose the right injector or the right dermatologist.
Why choose a board-certified Dermatologist?
Choose a board-certified dermatologist who is specifically trained in cosmetics so that you receive the best care and the filler matches the problem.
What is most important when getting dermal fillers?
If you have dark circles under your eyes and a lot of volume under your eyes, you really need a skilled injector to inject your tear top area which is the name of the area between the eye T-junction.
Having the right filler in the hands of the right injector is the most important thing.

What’s the difference between Botox and filler?
Botox essentially works by relaxing the facial muscles that are responsible for wrinkles, making it perfect for smoothing things like crow’s feet or forehead lines. Dermal fillers, however, are used to restore lost volume or plump areas like lips or cheeks. Think of Botox as a muscle relaxer and fillers as a sculpting toolHow do I know if I’m a good candidate for these treatments?
