What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a filler used to treat the volume loss of the face. As we age, we lose volume in our face and we can use something like Sculptra to replace the volume.
What is Sculptra made up of?
Sculptra consists of Ploy-L-Lactic acid which is a lattice that is injected into the skin to stimulate your body to grow its own natural collagen.
What is Sculptra used for?
Sculptra is used to treat the volume loss of the face. More specifically it is used in the temples, along the cheek bones and along the jawline to help lift the face and provide more support and structure to the skin. This decreases wrinkles and improves your volume loss.
Who is a candidate for Sculptra?
Anyone with volume loss in their face that is looking for a little lift to improve their volume loss is a candidate for Sculptra.
Where else can Sculptra be used?
Sculptra is also used to treat the vertical lines and wrinkles of the chest.
How to prepare for treatment with Sculptra?
There is no preparation necessary for your treatment with Sculptra. On your treatment day you will arrive at the Skin & Vein Institute where you will be brought to our numbing room to have numbing cream applied to your skin. you will numb for about 30 to 45 minutes and then you will be brought to our treatment room.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure takes about 20 minutes in which the Sculptra is placed in the areas if volume loss. It is virtually painless thanks to the numbing that you had before and there is numbing medicine mixed in with the Sculptra.
What happens after the treatment?
After treatment with Sculptra, there is little to no downtime. Rarely patients will experience some minor swelling and if a bruise does occur it can be treated at the Skin & Vein Institute immediately afterwards so that it resolves within 24-48 hours.
What needs to be done after the treatment?
After your treatment with Sculptra, to help stimulate collagen production you can massage your face five times a day for five minutes for five days after treatment.
How long does it take to see the results?
Results from Sculptra are delayed because Sculptra itself is not an actual filler. It is a lattice that is placed in the skin to help stimulate collagen production. It takes your body about 12 weeks to produce its own natural collagen. Therefore it takes about 12 weeks maybe longer to see the results from the injected Sculptra.
Is Sculptra safe?
Sculptra is both safe and effective at improving volume loss of the skin. If you are looking for something to improve your volume loss by building collagen, Sculptra is the choice for you.
